China Procurement is an Australian owned and operated company that provides end-to-end sourcing and importation services to Australian businesses. It was established to help SMEs gain competitive advantage through being able to purchase at highly discounted prices directly from Chinese manufacturers and distributors.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to be a major interface between Australian small and medium sized enterprises and Chinese manufacturers/distributors, through reliable sourcing of quality products at a price that ensures Customers. Suppliers and Ourselves are all sufficiently profitable.

Our Vision

To become the sourcing and importation provider of choice to small and medium sized enterprises operating in Australia by providing competitively priced sourcing and importation services.

History

China Procurement was established by 2 partners – one Australian and one Chinese – following several successful small importations that the owners carried out on an informal basis between 2004 and 2006. As a result of these importations valuable experience was gained in terms of understanding the processes involved.

Based on this knowledge we have helped many small and medium sized businesses source and import millions of dollars worth of products ranging in price from less than one cent per unit to in excess of $200,000 per unit, and all at well below the cost of similar products in Australia.

What the Company Does

China Procurement provides an end-to-end sourcing and importing service for Australian businesses. It was established to help small to medium sized Australian companies gain competitive advantage through being able to purchase directly from Chinese manufacturers.

Most Australian businesses realise that to remain competitive they need to look to Asia, particularly China, for sourcing products for their own use or resale.  However many of these businesses are not sufficiently prepared to manage this sourcing effectively.

There are a number of considerations that an Australian business should take into account when purchasing from China:

  • Communication Issues resulting from foreign language and a very different business culture.
  • Reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Financial – Currency fluctuations, import duties, Chinese sales taxes.

The first two of these can be partially overcome by dealing with well-established Chinese manufacturers who do have a good knowledge of English. However this presents two other issues:

  • These companies tend to be much larger and have bigger overheads, therefore they are likely to be more expensive.
  • Because of their size, they only deal in very large quantities.

The well-established Chinese manufacturers who do have knowledge of English usually talk only in container loads. This means that smaller businesses often have no choice but to deal through middle-men, many of whom are based in Hong Kong, and charge anywhere between 50% and 500% above the real cost. As a result these businesses don’t achieve anywhere near the benefits that they should. This is where China Procurement can help.
